The Girls' Brigade In Scotland was officially established in 1965 but its roots date back to the beginnings of the Girls' Guildry, which was founded in 1893, from which the Girls' Brigade evolved. It is part of a worldwide Christian organisation for girls and young women. While church-based, we welcome girls from all backgrounds. Many of our members have no church background but share in all activities in a caring and christian environment.
The organisation operates through a network of local Companies, which are led by fully-trained volunteers. We work closely with and for the local community and we encourage our members to play a positive role within their community.
The Girls' Brigade in Scotland is part of a worldwide organisation and we meet regularly with our colleagues in England, Ireland and Northern Ireland as well as with the wider Girls' Brigade family in countries around the world.
For further information on starting a Company in your area, contact our National HQ and we will provide you with the help and support you require.
